Good for quick checks

I tried out the Rate My Prose feature last week. It gave me some pretty decent feedback on a chapter I was working on. It was easy to use, just uploaded my text and got results back fast. Felt helpful, kinda like a second pair of eyes without bothering anyone.

Great value on annual plan

As a first-time buyer, I was looking for the best deal. I signed up for the annual subscription to get the 20% discount. It felt like a solid investment compared to monthly payments. I used the Phantom Fix to clean up some of my manuscript, and it caught a lot of little things I missed. For the price, it really felt worth it, definitely saved me a good bit of editing time.

Always reliable for editing

I've been using GhostTheWriter for a few months now, mainly for the Word Wraith and the style consistency checker. This latest purchase, an annual plan renewal, was as smooth as always. I've tried other tools, but I keep coming back here because the feedback is genuinely useful and specific to creative writing, not just general grammar stuff. It consistently helps me tighten up my prose without making it sound generic. It's become a core part of my writing process, and I appreciate that I can depend on it for every project.

Is GhostTheWriter any good for a first-time novelist? I'm not sure if it's too advanced or just right for someone trying to get their ideas down.

E Emma Turner 1 month ago
I think it's great for beginners. It's designed by a lit PhD, so it helps you think about things a lot of new writers miss, like character arcs and prose quality. Plus, the free trial lets you test it out.

Hey, I'm thinking about getting GhostTheWriter but I'm worried about my manuscript data. Like, do they use it to train their AI or something?

A Amanda White 2 weeks ago
Nah, they have it in their FAQs that they don't use your stuff to train their AI. Your work stays private.

S Steven 2 weeks ago
Yeah, I remember seeing that too. It's a big deal for writers, so they're pretty clear about it. Your data is safe.

Just signed up for the free trial. If I decide to buy, where do I even put in a promo code? Couldn't find a clear spot.

S Sean P. 2 weeks ago
It's usually at checkout through Stripe, or sometimes in your billing portal after you sign up. Just look for a 'promo code' or 'coupon' field.

D Daniel Miller 2 weeks ago
Yeah, if you go to upgrade from the trial, the option should pop up before you confirm payment. Keep an eye out.

Does anyone know if GhostTheWriter offers any special discounts for students? I'm on a pretty tight budget but really need help with my manuscript.

P Patricia Davis 1 month ago
Yep, pretty sure they do. I saw 'student discount' mentioned somewhere. Check their FAQs or shoot them an email to confirm.

They do! My friend got one. You probably have to provide some proof, but it's worth it for the savings.

I'm between GhostTheWriter and Sudowrite. Has anyone used both and can say which is better for actual story development, not just grammar fixes?

E Emma 1 month ago
GhostTheWriter has a whole 'Flesh Maker' and 'character development AI' thing which is pretty good for plot. Sudowrite is okay, but I feel GTW digs deeper into narrative structure.

A Anthony F. 1 month ago
I've used both. For developmental stuff, GhostTheWriter feels more structured, probably because of the PhD angle. Sudowrite is fun for brainstorming but GTW helps me build out my story better.

Thinking of trying out 'Rate My Prose.' How detailed is the feedback usually? Is it just a basic score or does it give actionable advice?

A Amber Torres 1 month ago
It's pretty detailed, not just a score. It breaks down different aspects of your writing. I found it super helpful for identifying weak spots in my sentences.

From what I remember, it gives you specific suggestions and points out patterns in your writing. It's not just a thumbs up or down.

Anyone know if there are any current discount codes floating around for GhostTheWriter? Trying to save a few bucks.

E Eric King 1 month ago
Sometimes they have referral links from other users, that's how I got a little off. Check around on writing forums.

M Megan P. 1 month ago
They usually do a free trial, which is pretty sweet. For discounts, look for seasonal stuff or maybe a newsletter signup deal. I got 20% off annual that way once.

My book is pretty niche, think historical fantasy. Will the AI actually understand the nuances or is it more generic prose polishing?

D Daniel Ramirez 2 weeks ago
It's more than just grammar. I use it for sci-fi and the 'prose polishing tool' and 'style consistency checker' really help maintain the specific voice. It's designed for creative writing so it gets nuance better than something like Grammarly.

I've used 'Word Wraith' and 'Phantom Fix' for a weird gothic horror story and it picked up on things I thought only a human editor would. The 'literary AI' part seems to make a difference.
